The Francesca sweater is worked top-down. First, the back is worked back and forth, shaping the shoulder slopes using increases. Then, stitches are picked up along the shoulder slopes to work the right and left fronts back and forth. After that, the fronts are joined to work the front back and forth, and stitches are cast on for the neck. Following this, the front and back are joined to work the body in the round.
